Two problems, not one

Testing and traceability get treated as one question and they are two. Testing asks whether a batch was measured and by whom. Traceability asks something the certificate cannot answer by itself: whether the unit that arrives at your door is from the batch the certificate describes. A perfect panel attached to a vial you cannot connect to it is a perfect panel for a different vial. One supplier's published route

Here is one supplier's published practice, stated as its own and not as an industry norm, because nothing in the fact pack establishes a norm. On that record, vials ship unlabeled by design: nothing identifying is printed on the vial itself. Read as a practice, that is a defensible choice with an obvious cost, and the cost is that the link is only as reliable as the support reply. That identifier and that batch code are quotable because they are printed on a live page. What this desk will not do is merge two facts into one. Whether COA-2026-8642 is the same file as the four page certificate published for this compound elsewhere on the supplier's site, this desk does not know, because nothing read on 2026-09-01 says the two are one document. They are stated side by side and left there.

The question to ask any seller

Turn the worked example into a question you carry everywhere. Before ordering from anyone, ask in writing how a unit in your hand is connected back to a document, and get the answer before the order rather than after it. If the answer is a printed batch code, note it. If the answer is a lookup or a support step, note that.
